AIME’s MEM30505 Certificate III in Engineering - Technical provides training on the skills needed to gain entry level employment in the drafting profession.
The units can also be used as credits in the two Certificate IV courses (note that Certificate III Engineering qualifications gained through an apprenticeship are required to study for the Certificate IV in Engineering (Maintenance)).
The course covers:
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings as per Australian standards AS1100
- creating technical drawings using AS1100
- engineering metrology
- the performance of basic non-destructive tests to identify defects in parts and components: and
- applying sustainable work practices.
